SUMMARY:Building an Economy That Works for Everyone
DESCRIPTION:In a truly great economy\, everyone — whether it’s individuals\, families\, businesses or entire industries — benefits from its growth. How can we build an economy that works for all in the Capital Region?\nFor their next “Suds and Solutions” event\, Solving Sacramento is hosting a discussion about We Prosper Together. It’s a new initiative of 150+ organizations in eight counties surrounding California’s capital that wants to take a more inclusive approach to economic development by creating livable-wage jobs and encouraging diverse investments into the regional economy. \nOur panelists will dive into the state of the Capital Region’s economy\, including how it can take advantage of its assets and take action to address challenges and disparities. They’ll be discussing key points and highlights of two new research reports: We Prosper Together’s Capital Region Economic Assessment\, and Valley Vision’s Inclusive Economy Poll of local residents’ experiences and perspectives related to economic opportunity\, access and awareness. \nJoin us on Thursday\, May 9\, from 5 pm to 7pm at Track 7 Brewing in Curtis Park. There’s no charge to attend\, plus we’re giving away $100 worth of free drinks on a first-come basis\, so be sure to arrive early! \n  \nSPEAKERS\n\nDawnté Early\, president and CEO of United Way Capital Region\nPat Fong Kushida\, president and CEO of the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce\nEvan Schmidt\, CEO of Valley Vision\nGloria Stearns\, economic development director for Placer County\n\nMODERATOR\n\nEmily Hamann\, staff writer for the Sacramento Business Journal\n\n  \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n Event Materials\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n Valley Vision Presentation\n \n \n \n View the Presentation\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n GSEC Presentation\n \n \n \n View the Presentation\n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n\n
