North Tahoe Community Alliance

Our organization is a tourism based regional destination marketing organization and chamber of commerce representing the North Lake Tahoe/Eastern Placer County region. In addition to traditional DMO promotion responsibilities we have recently added destination stewardship and visitation management responsibilities to the organization’s purpose. We directly fund and recommend regional stewardship, infrastructure, and business development projects in alignment with our Management District Plan and Tourism Master Plan. Our newly developed Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID), and historical Transient Occupancy Taxes generate between $9-$10mm of annual funding for community projects that support our Management District Plan and Tourism Master Plan objectives. Our organization brings to the table an in-depth understanding of tourism as the major economic driver in our region, as well as challenges associated with a seasonally fluctuating industry and the impacts on businesses, residents, infrastructure, and the environment. The North Lake Tahoe Resort Association seeks out partnerships and convenes regional stakeholder groups including private and public sector entities, elected officials, non-profits, special districts, and general public to surface issues, develop action plans, and leverage funding opportunities that support economic health, community vitality, and environmental sustainability.
