Soil Born Farms Urban Agriculture and Education Project

Soil Born Farms is a non-profit urban agriculture and education project that empowers people to participate in a local food system that encourages health, nurtures the environment and grows a sustainable community. Our farm education center is located in a dense urban area of Rancho Cordova, California, and serves as regional hub for hands-on learning, youth empowerment, healthy food access, community gathering, culinary exchange, and environmental stewardship. We also support highly successful school garden programs at the region’s lowest-income schools in South Sacramento and Rancho Cordova. Our organization is dedicated to the creation of an equitable, resilient and sustainable community, and we look forward to adding our 20+ years of experience to the CERF planning process. Soil Born Farms will bring unique perspective on the power of the local urban food system to positively impact the region on many fronts, from working to reverse health disparities in low-income and BIPOC communities, to building environmental and economic resilience, and growing community cohesion.
