Teatro Nagual

Our organization is deeply rooted in the Latino theatre and arts community, and particularly with the Latino stories. We bring theatre as a vehicle to engage community in discussions that would not naturally happen without a story to kick off discussion. Based on the teaching of Carlos Casteneda and Cesar Chavez, we bring Teatro as the model. Along with Agosto Boal and theatre of the oppressed methods of engaging community, we provide a brave space for uncomfortable, yet necessary stories to be at the front and at the table. We are a trusted leader. We continue our mission of improving conditions for all of Sacramento underserved populations with focus on the hard-hit Latino neighborhoods. Our last two theatrical experiences has over 700 audience members in attendance, thus demonstrating our reach. It is this unique method that ensures success in outreach and programming related to CERF and the CERF collaborative.
