The fundamental objective of establishing a CDFA and USDA-certified meat processing facility in Colusa, is to create a state-of-the-art center designed to support local agriculture, meet federal and state regulations, bolster the regional economy while creating promising jobs, and increase opportunities for disinvested communities in the Capital region. By creating the willingness, flexibility and capacity to provide culture specific meat processing practices, the facility will encourage the growth of livestock producers and access to local products by consumers adhering to disenfranchised cultural practices.

Funds will be utilized for targeted engagement of disinvested communities in the Capital Region and to purchase equipment to complete the USDA and CDFA approved Colusa meat processing facility.
