Forest Biomass Business Center - Feasibility Study and Business Planning
Promoting sustainable forest management and jobs through innovation.
Camptonville Community Partnership had the vision to build a biomass utilization campus to respond to the growing demand for forest restoration work and the rapidly increasing threat of catastrophic wildfire to the community and the Yuba Watershed, one of the few remaining green watersheds in California.
The Campus will kick start a new local economy by creating viable outlet for excess forest biomass, from nearby forest management and restoration projects, thus improving forest health and resilience, combat catastrophic wildfires, and reduce the net costs of removing hazardous fuels.
This grant will allow CCP to work with experts to develop the campus into a dynamic and sustainable business model and identify feasible businesses for the campus. This work will be shared and hopefully replicated throughout the region to improve forest health, combat climate change, and strengthen our rural communities.
