Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL)

The Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL) is a civil rights organization committed to empowering Black and other historically marginalized people throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance while living well, being well and thriving. Since 1968, GSUL has implemented programs and initiatives surrounding housing, job training, education, health, and community development to support and uplift underserved communities throughout the Sacramento region. The Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL) possesses extensive expertise in catering to the diverse Sacramento community. Our Workforce Development programs have successfully educated and prepared job seekers for fulfilling careers in various fields, including medicine, civil service, and IT. Additionally, GSUL, one of the two HUD certified housing counseling agencies north of the Bay Area, has aided over 500 families in foreclosure prevention, eviction prevention, financial education, rental assistance, and first-time homebuyer education. Drawing from our substantial experience in economic empowerment, we consider ourselves a vital asset in helping CERF attain its objectives of establishing a more just, sustainable, and resilient economy throughout the Capital Region.
