We Prosper Together: 2026 Impact Report

The Big Picture

Since 2023, public, private, and community leaders across eight counties in California’s Capital Region have come together to build a more inclusive and resilient economy.

Seeded by the statewide California Jobs First program and led by Valley Vision, We Prosper Together represents the bold, data-driven plan to build a regional economy for all.

Priority Industry Sectors

We Prosper Together’s planning phase resulted in the identification of four high-growth, target sector strategies designed to create quality, living-wage jobs in our region.

Advanced & Precision Manufacturing

The manufacture of intricate, highly accurate, value-added components that meet strict requirements.

Biosciences

Research and innovations in agriculture, health, and life science rooted in world-class research institutions like UC Davis.

Healthcare Innovation

Large employer in the region, with many major medical systems investing in regional specialized medicine.

Working Lands

Food, agriculture, wood economy manufacturing, mining and extraction, and more.

Scaling the Bioeconomy

As a next step for We Prosper Together, the Capital Region secured a $7.3M California Jobs First Regional Investment Initiative award to build a regional biomanufacturing and biotechnology network, create high-quality jobs, and build on its strengths in life sciences research.

The Capital Biomanufacturing Alliance (CAPBIO) brings partners together to turn the region’s research excellence and infrastructure investments into a national and global biomanufacturing hub – with scaled production, good-paying jobs, and durable economic opportunity.

Built Different:
Community Designed

We Prosper Together is driving transformative change across the Capital Region by putting diverse community and regional voices at the center of strategic decision-making. Through a robust community-led governance structure, we’ve built a shared strategy and identity that reflects the priorities of our diverse, eight-county region.

Our network of subregional and community ambassadors ensures that historically disinvested communities are not only heard, but actively shaping decisions and holding the process accountable. This powerful model of inclusive leadership is delivering real impact, aligning regional action with community priorities, and creating a future where everyone has a stake in our shared prosperity.
