Nevada County Arts Council

Our organization facilitates collaborative efforts that promote and sustain the visual, literary and performing arts of Nevada County in order to advance the cultural, social and economic life of our community for all. We are designated by the County of Nevada to serve as State-Local Partner with the California Arts Council, serving as an umbrella for our creative sector, and an interface for potential public-private partnerships locally. Programs and initiatives addressing community needs include Arts Incubator, a capacity-building hub for local initiatives; The Business of Art, providing career development opportunities for artists; and ongoing pro-bono consulting on funding opportunities for our creative sector broadly. We conduct ongoing cultural assessment and planning, such as our current Arts & Economic Prosperity Study, our Cultural Asset Map, and our Strategic Plan for Arts Education. Through our Community of Practice for Equity in the Arts we strengthen cultural equity capacity for creative sector leadership, believing that how we ground our support for the belonging we wish all residents to feel, should be reflected in the way we operate as organizations and creative businesses.
