Director of Economic Development for Sacramento County

Crystal Bethke is the Director of Economic Development for Sacramento County. As director, she leads the implementation of the County’s economic development initiatives and programs for business development, retention and attraction, small business assistance, workforce development, and marketing and partnership efforts.

Crystal has more than 17 years of experience in the public sector overseeing a wide range of economic development strategies, marketing and community engagement plans, and business and nonprofit support programs.

Crystal actively contributes to the advancement of economic and community development through her involvement in various boards and commissions. Presently, she serves on the Sacramento Employment and Training Agency's Sacramento Works, Inc. Board, where she is charged with providing policy, planning, and oversight for local workforce development initiatives.

Crystal has a Bachelor of Science in Government as well as a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco.
